I log onto the internet to hunt down Julie’s blog and see how accurate the movie is versus the blog. I have only read a couple of the posts but it a fun read!

It made me think… I should post a ‘Happy Valentines’ to my readers, as well as the scent of bacon lingers in the air and my MIL goes back to the kitchen to bake with my oldest son I think to myself: “I wish I could cook.”

Uhm.. why can’t I?

Only two years ago I was a master water burner!
In the last two years my partner has calmly taught me never to cook on high heat unless I’m searing meat.
FlyLady taught me to use a timer when I’m not present at the stove/oven.

I may be ready. I am, however, still very novice in the kitchen. My mastery includes spaghetti, dumplings in canned soup and store bought pizza heated (and mostly burnt) in the oven!

It’s called Lazy.

No matter what I do to try and motivate myself, old tricks or new. I can’t seem to get up and get stuff done around here. Did I loose my motivation when I closed the storage unit? Did all of this clutter collapse my will to clean? Am I too tired because I’m entering my 3rd trimester? Maybe, but those would be excuses.

No excuses, no reasoning or putting it off. I need to get up and at least do my basic 4 step routine.
- Make my bed
- Fix myself up to shoes
- Wash my dishes
- Wash my laundry
The first two items show myself respect. The last two show my family respect. I need to remember to love myself and my family, even on my blah days.

The path has started to fill in as I ‘expand’ the condensed clutter to deal with it. Much of the clutter is laundry at this point. Bags upon bags of laundry. How do we have so many clothes yet always complain of nothing to wear? My closet is full of clean maternity friendly clothes finally but I am wearing the same 3 pieces over and over… Strange.

I however had a huge revelation. February 2nd is a week away. O M G
I have one week to empty a 4x8x10 storage unit? ARGH!

I’m now attempting to head of a massive panic attack by cleaning the basement vigourously. Why not the sotrage unit you ask? We’ve had massive ammounts of snow dropped on us in only 2 days. The roads suck. I drive a Mazda Protoge Hatchback. I’m stuck where we parked.
How in hells bells am I going to do this?

I’m going to call my step-dad to borrow his truck but it’s a light duty and probably wont fare well until the roads have been cleaned up a bit.

Side thought: I better bring the shovel with me to the unit, don’t know if they’ll clear the snow or not….

The Washer and Dryer pair were delivered yesterday at 9:30… hour early. I was pretty much ready for the moving men, just a little vacuuming that was left, but no embarrassing piles of things to be moved or stuff to step over.
I did have to widen my stairway a bit for them after they were on site. My Dear Husband had spent a good portion of the night before removing panel board and nails and… and… to make the stairs wider than 26 inches. However the moving men wanted it extended a little further than my husband had done.
Me being the handy woman I am, went out the the garage and grabbed the hack saw and crow bar. That wall never knew what hit it
My basement floor still has some wood splinters on it, but it’s easier to carry the laundry up and down!

Yes you did the math correctly. Gage was born before I was 18, big deal? Kinda… He completely changed my life. Thank God!

I fell in love with a fantastic man named Sean about 6 years ago and we have been an item for almost as long. We have been in domestic partnership for 3 years now? OMG seriously I had to think about it! Ha ha ha! He is often referred to as my Dear Husband, even though we have not heard the wedding bells, our souls have been married for years.

I volunteer with a local Animal Rescue group called People For Animals Saskatchewan www.people4animal.ca
I foster 2 cats currently and own two of my own. Although even they came to be a part of our home a little differently than Pet Shop pets do!
Cupcake is my very large Tabby. I swear he’s part manecoon. When he lounges he measures 3 feet from paw to paw. Easily. He chose us, I saw a cute little kitten wandering around my back yard at this one rental I was in, I managed to befriend him and contacted his owner, who then saw how much I enjoyed Cupcake’s company, relinquished him to me. I had to find a cat-friendly place to live thanks to my new family addition, a tabby.
Princess is my tortie. She was surrendered by her owner along with another female cat I was babysitting for him while he moved apartments. When he was no longer able to continue paying his bill for services, he relinquished them and left it to me to decide if they should go to the pound or what. I found a lovely home for the other girl, she now lives with my aunt. Princess captured my husband’s heart with he timid behavior, which she no longer displays for us. Now it’s all about the cuddles and love!
Beatrix is one of my foster cats, she has been with us for a few months now and was incredibly timid to begin with but has blossomed into a very jealous attention lover!
Polly is our most recent foster, she was recently rescued from a feeding station in North Central Regina. She was bone thin and extremely afraid of everything. She is doing much better but is still very skittish around the boys.

Now about me? I’m of Austrian/German decent, light brown hair and blue eyed. I tan incredibly easy so be jealous! I love spending time outdoors in warmer weather, but living in Saskatchewan affords me several months of -20 or colder weather! I love crafting and creating, I have a very active imagination and a strong love for my family and God. I’m not a God pusher in any way, so you won’t hear many God talks from me, unless I’m focusing on building a routine based upon prayer or something. I’ll be sure to tag my posts appropriately so you can read or avoid them as you like.
I’m 5’3″ so you may often get some short complaints and jokes from this blog, but don’t get me wrong, I love how tall I am because I am short enough to hug and kiss my children easily, and tall enough to kiss my husband without standing on my tippy toes!
I love vintage style, I don’t always love my pea green kitchen, but the sophistication of the early era of fashion enthralls me. I may even do some blogging about that too, Fashion.
I wanted to Major in fashion design and Accounting, I managed one year in theater… My heart was at home and not in the books. At least I had my mind set on finishing High School so I could offer that to my son’s success.

Gage is a very brilliant boy who suffers severe ADHD. He attends a francophone school and is bilingual! As am I! I learned through immersion in the Catholic System, but I fought hard to have Gage admitted to the francophone system so it would afford him the best french education. He is so creative, I will have to share some of his K’NEX and play dough creations…

Nolan is a very precious trouble maker, he’s entering into those terrible 2′s early… Which to me speaks volumes on his curiosity and ability to decipher his world! Unfortunately it means he’s a going concern and often drives me off track of my current task!
Once off task I often forget what I was doing!
Ever walk into a room and forget why you went in there? I forget why I’m holding something, or heck even that I am holding something!

Sean… oh my Sean… Trouble maker supreme. But I love him. He’s a skydive instructor at the local jump club www.skydivesouthsask.com, I finally had my first jump last summer. What a sight I was. NOT! I plan on jumping again though, hopefully less … screechy… than last time!
Sean and I met at Millet’s Dance School, he was an instructor there. He was so firm and could he wiggle his hips! His little black jeans cupped his tight bottom so nicely… I though he was gay. He always was helping the men with their steps, often stepping in as the female role.
I was preparing to graduate and my date dropped out on me. DISASTER! So thinking he was cute, a good dancer and most likely not interested I prepared to ask him to be my escort for the prom. I OK’ed it with my family and when I mentioned my date flopped on me, he suggested “Why not take me? I’ll make you look good!” I blushed and replied that I had already cleared it with my family and if he was interested… He was dumbfounded, he never thought I’d actually take him!
Well prom came and we had a great time dancing and chatting, we always got along at dance class but that could have been because he was being nice because he’s a teacher right?
I asked him to after-grad. I had paid for the tickets months ago and couldn’t get a refund anyhow, and we were having a great time…. It was very last minute for him, but he pulled it together and met me on time to catch the bug to after-grad! Man was my hair a pain to undo!
It was at after-grad that we clicked. That we both came to the realization that something was there and we wanted to see if it would become more than just a flirtatious feeling.
We’ve had our down falls, we’ve been apart twice, but after some maturing and growing up. We’ve grown together and I doubt there is anything barring abuse or adultery that could tear us apart.
